Skiing in Civetta
Civetta is a large resort in the heart of the Dolomites, offering particularly good skiing for beginners and intermediate skiers. Its 80 km of slopes are served by 23 lifts, and there are four distinct ski areas to choose from.
Alleghe is located to the south of the Marmolada in a lakeside setting, making for some particularly scenic skiing. The lake can be skated when it has completely frozen over. There are around 21 km of pistes to enjoy, as well as an ice stadium that plays host to Serie A hockey matches and a well-equipped snowboarding park.
Zoldo has around 35 km of runs to explore and also offers night skiing for the adventurous. There are five blue runs, seven red and two black. There are plenty of cross-country trails to choose from and access to a World War I ski tour. Snowboarders can also enjoy a floodlit snowpark for boarding by night.
Selva di Cadore is a small village with just nine pistes, but makes up for this with unparalleled natural beauty and a vertical descent of around 700 m. There are child-friendly facilities for families to take advantage of and a cross-country skiing centre in Peronaz.
Palafavera is another small, quiet location that’s perhaps best suited to families rather than keen skiers in particular. It can be found next to Alleghe. It is home to a cross-country skiing centre at 1,550 m, which is used for national competitions.
