Skiing in Breuil-Cervinia Valtournenche
Located in the Alps near Zermatt, Breuil-Cervinia Valtournenche is the place to go if you want a huge variety of slopes and the chance to ski in two countries - Italy and Switzerland - in the same trip. The area is an amalgamation of the resorts of Breuil-Cervinia and Valtournenche, resulting in an incredible 150 ski runs to enjoy.
Breuil-Cervinia is the higher of the two areas and offers some particularly good, reliable skiing as a result. Here you’ll find the famous Ventina run, which runs downhill for 11 km from Plateau Rosa to the town of Cervinia.
Other highlights include the Colle del Theodulo pass, which offers an alternative route to the Swiss ski area, and the World Cup-standard runs of the Cieloalto area.
Valtournenche is home to runs for all ski levels, and is most notably the end point for the longest run in the entire Matterhorn Valley, the Reine Blanche, which runs for 22 km from the Klein Matterhorn station in Switzerland to Valtournenche, covering a descent of more than 2,000 m in the process.
Cross-country skiers will enjoy the trails in both areas, which equate to around 13 km in total.
