Skiing in Pila
Pila is a small but perfectly formed resort in the Aosta Valley in northern Italy and offers particularly good skiing for beginner and intermediate skill levels, complete with views of mountains like the Matterhorn, Mont Blanc, Grand Combin and Monte Rosa.
Some of the easier slopes include Baby Gorraz, Baby Pila and Grimod, with the more challenging pistes including Couis 2 and Leisse. As beginners tend to gravitate towards Pila, many of the red and black runs are relatively quiet and offer lots of room for more advanced skiing styles.
All of the pistes are generally very well groomed with plenty of snow, especially at the higher altitudes. Cross-country skiing enthusiasts have 8 km of trails to explore, but don’t forget that more skiing is available via the Aosta Valley area ski pass.
