Skiing in Megève
Megève is an authentic alpine village and it has a fame to be one of the most scenic and fashionable ski resorts in the French Alps. Together with la Giettaz, Saint-Gervais, Saint Nicolas Combloux, de Véroce and Contamines make up the Evasion Mont Blanc skiing area.
Megeve is situated in the vicinity of Mont Blanc, and if you want you can use the tracks in the area of Chamonix (20 km) and Courmayeur which is part of Vialattea ski resort in Italy (the another stunning side of Mont Blanc).
The formula which made become Megève a heritage is made of tourism and farming; united with natural environment it is pretty clear why today Megève is the ambassador of the art of living in the alps.
Megeve is known for the organization of apres-ski. Here you will find many restaurants that offer national Savoyard specialties. There is also the Sports Palace with indoor Olympic ice rink, swimming pool, sauna and fitness center, an outdoor skating rink in the village center, a theater, a jazz club, a casino, shops and boutiques.
Ski season in Megève is open from December to March.
