Skiing in Adelboden
The famous ski center of Adelboden lies in the south of the Bernese Oberland, in Switzerland.
Adelboden is relatively low (1,270 m), but it is surrounded by several mountain ranges - Pfitzer (2458 m) to the south, Gross Lohner (3003 m) to the east and Tarberg (2708 m) to the northwest. It is the perfect place for a family holiday - despite the abundance of sports tracks, there are the best opportunities for recreation and entertainment with children and relatively small height and steepness of slopes skiing easier for beginners.
Adelboden, which is known for its idyllic atmosphere with colorful wooden chalets and peaceful life, is the center of a vast ski area which includes several sub-regions under the same skipass rate: Adelboden - Frutigen – Lenk in the Bernese Oberland is one of the most extensive resorts.
The ski area lies at altitudes from 1053 to 2400 meters, bringing together 78 runs of all difficulty levels and almost 40% of local slopes can be recommended for beginners.
The ski season in Adelboden - Frutigen - Lenk lasts from the middle of November until the beginning of May.
